An elderly woman had an apparent seizure Wednesday afternoon while driving in Bradley County, authorities said.
The woman, whose age was not given, was taken to the hospital and is recovering, sheriff's office spokesman Bob Gault said in a news release.
Bradley County Deputy Sheriff Tim Bohannon saw the woman's car run a red light at the intersection of APD 40 and Treasury Drive, Gault said.
Bohannon activated his lights and siren but the woman's car didn't stop, so he pulled alongside her and saw that she appeared to be unconscious, Gault said.
The deputy used his patrol car to stop the woman's car. His car had minimal damage, Gault said.
