Chattanooga police seek jewelry theft suspects

A suspect in two local jewelry store thefts is this week's Crime Stoppers target.

Police said that on Nov. 14, two black males went into Zales Jewelry, asked to look at an expensive ring and left the store with it. Three days later, two black males entered Sam Edwards Jewelers, asked to see two expensive rings, and left the store after they were handed the rings.

The descriptions of the suspects in both cases matched, police said. Investigators identified Dana Hicks as one of the suspects, and police have obtained warrants for his arrest on two counts of theft over $1,000. Hicks, 36, is 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighs 182 pounds. His last known address is 4903 Cameron Lane in Chattanooga, police said.
