A news conference will be held next week on the investigation into the Gail Palmgren case, the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office said in a release.

Sheriff Jim Hammond said Wednesday the conference will be at 2:30 p.m. on Jan. 4.

No further information will be released until then, the sheriff's office said.

Palmgren, 44, disappeared on April 30 after she dropped her two children off at their Signal Mountain home.

Despite several searches in the area, her disappearance was a mystery until early December, when the remains of her body and her Jeep were found on the side of the mountain.

Authorities say her vehicle plunged off the side of East Brow Road on April 30.
