A mail carrier discovered the body of a middle-aged man Monday morning on the side of Shellmound Road near Jasper, Tenn., according to the Marion County Sheriff's Office.
The body was found around 11:30 a.m. CST.
Dispatchers with the sheriff's office would not confirm the man's name or cause of death Monday night, but said they are seeking the man's black 1994 Chevy pickup truck, which is missing.
An autopsy will be performed in Nashville, police said. The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation also is looking into the case.
