Snow is falling fast in the Tennessee Valley, but forecasters said Wednesday night that the system is quickly on its way out.
"The snow should be finishing up before 11 p.m.," said WRCB-TV chief meteorologist Paul Barys.
Barys said less than an inch should accumulate in the Chattanooga area, but more is expected in North Georgia and Alabama.
Some counties in North Georgia and Northeast Alabama may see an inch or more, Barys said.
Barys also noted that areas to the northwest saw greater accumulation from the system - Nashville has been hit with between 2-4 inches tonight, he said.
The main concern, Barys warned drivers, is the increase of icy patches on the roads as temperatures drop in the evening.
