Crew members at the Extreme Makeover build have all of the exterior walls for the foundation set.

This is the spot where they hoped to be earlier this morning when the 8 a.m. shift began.

Lead builder Craig Smith said the crew overnight ran into "soil issues" and had to call an engineer and extra loads of gravel in at 1 a.m.

Some of the delays were due to a septic system which crews were unaware of. He remained confident that the delay would not effect the teams ability to finish the build on time.

He said, in two days, the Makeover build is already where a normal build would be after three weeks of work.

Smith said the foundation would be completed and the framing crew would hopefully start work this afternoon.

Overnight workers with the Extreme Makeover: Home Edition crew ran into a snag when they unearthed an old septic system underneath the build site in Rossville.

The crew had hoped to have the foundation in place in the early morning hours but were still working to get the pre-fabricated foundation walls in place with a giant crane around 9:45 a.m.

A briefing from builders is scheduled for 10:00a.m. and more details will be available after the briefing.
