ROSSVILLE - The house has been built, the bus has been moved and this morning was finally time for the Sharrock family to reflect on their new home.
"That's the most beautiful house I've ever seen," said Michael Sharrock, whose family has been at the center of the Extreme Makeover: Home Edition build in the Lakeview area this week.
As film crews gathered their last few shots, the family held a press conference this morning a little after 9 a.m.
Nine-year-old Patrick again stole the show, talking about the trip to Disney, the house and of course cracking a few jokes.
"What do you get when you mix Holy Water and castor oil?" Patrick asked the crowd. "A religious movement."
Cindy Sharrock, who was brought to tears a few times during the presentations, said the response from the community has been overwhelming.
"I'm already thinking about how I''m going to pay it forward," she said.
Her husband Michael called the UTC scholarship a "dream come true." He said the outpouring of love from area residents has shifted his perception from guarding Patrick against crowds to now embracing the community.
"It makes me have to reset the way we think," he said.
