The Ellen DeGeneres Show gifted Haynie a new car and a $10,000 check.

Jennifer Haynie got an unlikely phone call Wednesday night: on the other line was talk show host Ellen DeGeneres, coaxing her to open her door for a surprise.

Meanwhile, producers and a camera crew from the nationally syndicated "Ellen DeGeneres Show" started knocking on Haynie's door on Mountain Creek Road.

Haynie and her fiance, Eric Lynn, opened the door, saw a new Chevrolet Cruze - and screamed.

"Thank you, thank you, thank you!" Haynie cried as she held her 9-month-old son, Gavin.

The gift was a part of the show's current promotion "Big Trucking Deal," during which they will gift six cars to lucky winners across the county.

This is the third car given away, producers said.

The couple was also given a $12,500 check, which will amount to about $10,000 after taxes, according to producers.

DeGeneres was shooting the show live in Los Angeles, but a monitor allowed her to appear live via satellite.

Haynie and Lynn were chosen to receive a car after Haynie wrote a letter to DeGeneres explaining the couple's difficult living situation, according to an earlier interview conducted with WRCB-TV Channel 3.

The couple were forced to drop out of college when they learned Haynie was pregnant with Gavin.

Lynn currently works two full-time jobs, and the couple did not have a car.
