Local radio personality Jay "Jammer" Scott announced Monday he no longer works at WPLZ-FM, saying management told him it had a "difference of opinion" with him over the direction of his talk show.
Scott posted about the termination on his Facebook page. "Thank you for your support and listening to the show," Scott wrote. "I appreciate it!"
Scott did not return calls seeking further comment.
Jim Brewer II, owner and president of the station's parent company, Brewer Media, said via e-mail that "Jay Scott and the company had a disagreement on the direction and time for the afternoon program, so we elected to go another direction."
"We wish Jay the best of luck in his future endeavors. The afternoon lineup is under consideration at this time," Brewer said.
Scott had been with the station since July 2010, and his show ran weekdays from 3 to 6 p.m., Brewer said.
Currently, the slot is being filled from 4 to 6 p.m. by Stuart James, a local political activist, according to the station's website.
Scott recently moderated a debate for the two candidates vying for the Hamilton County Commission's support to become Hamilton County mayor: Commissioner Jim Coppinger, who ultimately won, and former special assistant to the mayor Mike Carter.
