Driver's license checkpoints set
Tennessee Highway Patrol will hold driver's license checkpoints in Hamilton County between June 12 and June 18.
These checkpoints are meant to enforce state driver's license laws and protect the roads from unlicensed drivers.
The number of checkpoints and their locations will depend on manpower availability and weather conditions.
Suspect charged in meth bust
A Hixson man was jailed on meth-related charges after the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office raided a meth lab on a petition to abate public nuisance Thursday, according to an arrest report.
Matthew Jason Phillips, 20, of 7513 S. Dent Road, was charged with initiating the manufacture of meth, possession of drug paraphernalia and criminal conspiracy.
He was found inside the St. Johns Road lab in a bedroom with Danielle Ledford, who faces charges of initiating the manufacture of meth, possession of drug paraphernalia, criminal conspiracy to manufacture meth and criminal conspiracy for theft.
Ledford's small child also was found in the lab along with Kim and Brenton Douglas Ledford. Brenton Ledford faces the same charges as Danielle Ledford.
