DAYTON, Tenn. - MainStreet Dayton will pamper women and their men at its first summertime retreat on June 16.

Organizers said the event, called A Midsummer's Night Out, will be an evening of elegance, beauty and health for women at the Rest and Relax retreat, while men will be next door at Morgan's Furniture with the comforts of home, pizza and a movie on a large-screen TV.

Tickets for the retreat are $5 per person and include a goodie bag with a MainStreet Dayton shopping tote, free samples and event discounts from participating merchants and vendors. Complimentary appetizers will be served to participants, organizers said.

"Some vendors will offer extra specials [in the bags] to the first 25 to 50 tickets purchased," MainStreet Dayton Executive Director Anna Tromanhauser said.

Richard DeArk, owner of Noah Built DeArk jewelry, said he will give away a pair of earrings to someone among the first 50 tickets sold.

The retreat will offer attendees a variety of demonstrations and treatments, along with an opportunity to view products from local vendors, organizers said.

Tina Smith, an independent beauty consultant, said she'll offer free facials, and soothing nail and foot treatments. Demonstrations for digital scrapbooking ideas will be provided by Heritage Makers, and a guitarist, violinist and pianist will provide live music throughout the evening at various locations, Tromanhauser said.

Organizers said the Rhea Family YMCA, off Third Street, will provide child care for $6 per child.

Vendor booths are available at no cost for MainStreet Dayton members, but non-MainStreet members will pay $25 per booth.

Tickets can be purchased at the Rhea County Welcome Center or at ArtCrafters in Dayton.
