Kadeem Pratt faces a charge of criminal homicide after he was arrested in connection to the fatal shooting of Robert Moore on Tuesday. Moore was shot in the abdomen while sitting on his porch at 2302 E. 14th St. about 1:30 p.m., according to Chattanooga police.

Pratt's next court date is set for March 21.

Witnesses told police a four-door maroon Lincoln Town Car approached the home and gunmen opened fire. Moore received a gunshot wound to the abdomen and was taken to Erlanger hospital, where he died.

When interviewed by police, Pratt denied shooting anyone, according to the arrest report.

Police stopped a Lincoln Town Car in the 400 block of Tunnel Boulevard and found an SKS rifle in the trunk of the vehicle with rounds that matched the casings left at the scene, reports say.

Authorities said they found 18-year-old Demarqus Dillard standing with the car. Dillard said Pratt called him on his cell phone about 2 p.m. and told him to wait with his car because it was out of gas.

Police still have not identified a motive in the shooting.

The investigation continues with more arrests pending, police said.

Moore's homicide was the fifth slaying of the year in Chattanooga.
