Hamilton County students show off their art

The artwork of several Hamilton County students is on display at Hamilton Place mall after the completion of a countywide art competition.

The contest was sponsored by the school system and Allied Arts of Greater Chattanooga. Students were challenged to create work that highlighted Chattanooga's environmental surroundings.

Artwork will be on display in the mall's center concourse until Jan. 30.

The winners were:

Elementary division

• First place: Nathan Lathrop, Battle Academy

• Second place: Braley Moorehead, Birchwood Elementary

• Third Place: Keyshayn Brooks, Barger Academy of Fine Arts

Middle school division

• First place: Brandon Spencer, Dalewood Middle

• Second place: Dajia Ector, Dalewood Middle

• Third place: Hannah Heckler, Signal Mountain Middle/High

High school division

• First place: Vi Huynh, Ooltewah High

• Second place: Chris Inthavohgsa, Ooltewah High

• Third place: Haley Bartley, Ooltewah High
