A 20-year-old man is accused of trying to set fire to his ex-girlfriend's apartment, according to a Chattanooga Police Department arrest report.

Christopher Lowe recently got out of jail and went to his ex-girlfriend's home in the 2300 block of Wilson Street, where she cooked him food and later told him he couldn't stay. He became angry, telling her he was going to burn her stuff, and left, according to the report.

The woman told police someone had broken a window to her apartment Sunday and threw a burning shirt inside doused in a flammable liquid. The shirt burned a place in the carpet but went out on its own, according to the report. The woman also had a couple of text messages from Lowe making threats, according to the report.

Lowe was arrested in September for harassment, but the case was dismissed, according to court records.

As of Monday afternoon, Lowe remained at the Hamilton County jail without bond. His next court date is set for Nov. 29 before General Sessions Court Judge Christine Sell.
