Devante StoudemireA Hamilton County Criminal Court judge lowered the bond for a defendant in a murder case, but set special monitoring conditions if the man is released.
Judge Barry Steelman reduced the $350,000 bond for Devante Stoudemire, 19, to $75,000 Thursday.
Stoudemire was charged with first-degree murder in the shooting death of JerMichael Richardson on Nov. 19, 2010.
But Steelman set conditions that Stoudemire would have to wear an electronic monitoring device if he pays the bond amount before his next hearing on Nov. 4, said Jonathan Turner, Stoudemire's defense attorney.
Trial date set in murder case with four defendants
The murder trial of four men charged in the shooting death of a 46-year-old man during an alleged home invasion is scheduled for Dec. 12.
Hamilton County Criminal Court Judge Don Poole set the trial date for co-defendants Steven James Ballou, 32, Harold Francis Butler III, 31, Unjolee Tremone Moore, 25, and John Thomas Simpson, 31.
Police arrested and charged the men two weeks after the June 29, 2010 shooting, which also injured 45-year-old Timothy Westfield.
Police said at the time that Hughes opened the door of his 4417 Oakwood Drive apartment to find two armed, masked men, who pushed their way inside to rob him.
Hughes grabbed one of the assailant's guns and struggled for control of the weapon. Westfield, who was visiting Hughes at the time, tried to help Hughes. The gunman shot both men.
