'Freedom Riders' coming to Dalton State College

The Dalton State College Center for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion will host a free screening of the 2010 historical documentary "Freedom Riders" at 6:30 p.m. Thursday in Goodroe Auditorium of Gignilliat Memorial Hall.

"Freedom Riders" tells the story of six months in 1961 when more than 400 black and white nonviolent activists traveled together on buses and trains throughout the deep South, deliberately violating Jim Crow laws, according to a news release.

A discussion will follow the screening. Seating will be on a first-come, first-served basis.
