Shallowford Road between Gunbarrel and Jenkins roads will close today and remain closed for about 60 days, Chattanooga Traffic Engineer John Van Winkle said Wednesday.
The closure is to let workers move a sewer line in preparation for a state project to widen Shallowford in that area, Van Winkle said.
The 7600 and 7700 blocks close at 9 a.m., according to a news release.
Residents and business owners and customers will be able to get through, but through traffic will be prohibited.
Westbound traffic on Shallowford will detour onto Jenkins Road north to Pinewood Drive. The eastbound detour will use Gunbarrel Road south of Igou Gap Road.
