Convicted murderer Sam Parker has been transported from Reidsville State Prison to Walker County Jail, where he's waiting for a judge's ruling on his motion for a new trial.

Parker is the former LaFayette, Ga. police officer who was convicted of killing his wife, Theresa, in 2009.

He is scheduled to go before Walker County Superior Court Judge Jon "Bo" Wood on April 12.

The hearing for a new trial has been delayed 2 1/2 years because of difficulty in scheduling and the time it took to get a copy of transcripts from the trial, said Parker's attorney, David Dunn.

Parker was convicted before the body of his wife - a 911 dispatcher - was ever found. Theresa Parker's skeletal remains were found in September 2010 in Chattooga County.
