Clifford Kirk, who has won 10 Class AAA championships in his 26-year head coaching career, has announced he is retiring as the softball coach at Soddy-Daisy High School.

Kirk's coaching career began at Lookout Valley where he was an assistant to Pat Conard in 1985 and '86. He then guided Hixson to titles the next two seasons before taking over at Soddy-Daisy beginning with the '89-90 school year.

Kirk is also the coach at Soddy-Daisy Middle and said he will coach there at least one more season.
