'Touch a truck' part of Chattanooga's Public Works Week

Kids of all ages who are interested in tricked-out trucks are invited to "Touch a Truck" from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. today at the River Street cul-de-sac in Coolidge Park.

Chattanooga's Public Works Department will have a display of city vehicles including a vacuum truck, hook lift with mini-excavator, paint truck and more for people to see and learn about, according to a news release.

On Wednesday at the Waterhouse Pavilion in Miller Plaza, Public Works will have educational displays explaining the department's duties, such as brush collection, road design and repair, code enforcement and driver education, along with a collection of vehicles.

That event is scheduled for 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
