Here's a toast to the employees at Tennessee Galvanizing in Jasper, Tenn. They recently all came together and sponsored The Black Bag Initiative, a joint program with Chattanooga's Widows Harvest Ministries and a group of nurses at Erlanger Health System.

Once a week, the nurses will do wellness checks on dozens of widows who are living alone and need someone to make sure they are doing OK. This idea came from the good old days when doctors would actually make house calls with their black bags. The Widows Harvest Ministries promotes the spiritual and physical wellbeing of women who are often forgotten.
