A frightening accident

Every traffic accident has the potential for being tragic.

Every one is regrettable, and we need to do all we can to be careful and to avoid deaths, injuries and damage. We all know that. But accidents do occur.

One accident last Sunday was really "scary." And as it was serious, we give thanks that the bad results were far less than they might have been.

A bus carrying about 30 Lincoln University students was returning them to their campus in Jefferson City, Mo., from a pageant in Atlanta when there was a mishap in East Ridge.

A Mustang and the bus loaded with students collided, with the bus nearly striking a concrete median.

Five students were rushed to Memorial Hospital, four to Parkridge, four to Parkridge East and three to Erlanger, it was reported. Fortunately, all were treated and were able to be released. But just the thought of "what might have been," with so many people involved, is spine-chilling.

We prayerfully hope those who were involved and have suffered injuries, discomforts and anxieties will have full and early recoveries.
