Unpopular Congress

For 19 years, the Gallup Poll has asked Americans' views on whether most members of Congress deserve re-election. The "yes" responses to that question recently hit a record low: just 20 percent. Those saying "no" are at a stunning 76 percent!

Or maybe that's not so stunning.

Congress has long been on a spending binge, boosting the debt to more than $15 trillion -- roughly equal to the entire annual economic output of the mighty United States!

And just last year, Congress imposed the costly, deeply unpopular ObamaCare socialized medicine law.

So while there are some fine members of Congress, there are good reasons to disapprove of the job that Congress is doing overall.

Next November, we'll learn whether that disapproval will translate into many lawmakers being sent packing by voters.
