Americans weigh in again against ObamaCare

Once again, the American people have made known their displeasure with ObamaCare socialized medicine, which Democrats pushed through Congress last year with zero Republican support.

Only 42 percent of Americans surveyed by Gallup want ObamaCare to remain in place, while 47 percent said they want the law repealed. Majorities of Republicans and independents alike favor repeal of the law; only Democrats want to keep it.

Those findings come on top of scores of Rasmussen surveys showing broad public support among likely voters for repealing ObamaCare. From late March 2010 through early November of this year, 81 of 82 polls on the law found majority support for undoing ObamaCare.

The U.S. Supreme Court plans to hear a challenge to the law and is expected to issue a ruling in mid-2012.

While the high court should strike down ObamaCare as unconstitutional, it would be even better for Congress to repeal the law. That is unlikely, with Democrats controlling the Senate. But there is no justification for leaving on the books a law that unconstitutionally forces the American people to buy government-approved medical insurance.
