Chuck Fleischmann's 'Enterprise Award'

It is good news for all of us that our local congressman, rep. Chuck Fleischmann, R-Tenn., has been honored with the "Spirit of Enterprise Award" by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.

"Over the past year, Congressman Fleischmann has worked to protect and advance the interests of American job creators," said President Thomas J. Donohue of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.

"By supporting pro-growth policies, Congressman Fleischmann is helping unleash the power of free enterprise to put our economy on track and put Americans back to work."

That's certainly what we all want.

The award honors members of Congress who support the chamber's position on at least 70 percent of what the chamber deems "key votes." Hundreds of mostly Republican senators and House members won the award.

The entire Republican congressional delegations for Tennessee and Georgia won the award.

Fleischmann and U.S. Rep. Tom Graves, R-Ga., both of whom are up for re-election, sent official news releases announcing they won.

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce is the largest business trade group in the world, with over 3 million businesses as members, according to Fleischmann's news release.

Residents of the Third Congressional District are fortunate that Rep. Fleischmann is representing us in Congress.

We appreciate Rep. Fleischmann, and extend enthusiastic congratulations.
