Will women pick the president?

Many of us are too young to remember when women couldn't vote in our United States elections.

Women could not vote until 1920, when the 19th Amendment of our Constitution was ratified.

Now, women can not only vote but may well be instrumental in picking our next president.

What issues will appeal to most women?

Democrat President Barack Obama and Republican hopeful Mitt Romney, the apparent 2012 presidential nominees, surely are thinking about the women's vote.

Each candidate surely will be looking for what will appeal to most wives, mothers, and daughters.

What do you think those issues will be?

Neither all men nor all women will vote alike. But some issues tend to motivate men more and some issues motivate women more.

A recent ABC News/Washington Post poll found that if the presidential election were held today, President Obama would get about 51 percent of the votes with Romney attracting 44 percent.

President Obama surely is encouraged by the recent polls.

But the women may ultimately decide.
