Mother Nature has lethal weapons
Did President George W. Bush ever prove that Saddam Hussein had weapons of mass destruction? In comparison with all the tornadoes during the month of April, I believe everyone would agree that Mother Nature has many lethal weapons.
In addition to tornadoes, we have hurricanes, earthquakes, floods, tsunamis, severe thunderstorms and wildfires sometimes made worse by strong winds. Why are all these bad things happening on our planet Earth? Do our scientists know any more than we do? If they are as mystified as the rest of us, there needs to be a lot more research done!
On a brighter note, I once read in one of the tabloids that if all the Chinese would jump up and down at the same time, it would cause an earthquake. I guess because there are so many of them. Any way you look at it, Mother Nature is making our lives miserable. God needs to put a stop to all these horrible happenings. It wouldn't hurt to pray about it!
I'm like everyone else. I love life, and these storms are a threat to all.

Monument needs to be refurbished
I am writing about a World War II monument at Patten Parkway and Georgia Avenue. I don't think it is right the way they are treated.
They gave their lives for their country too. But they don't get a flag or flowers put up to show respect for them or appreciation for them giving their lives for our country.
I think all the soldiers should be honored. They are all heroes.
There are a lot of names. I would like to see that monument fixed up nicely, so we can have flowers and a flag up there.
Maybe a ceremony could be held in honor of these boys.
I have a brother's and uncles' names on the monument.
People, wake up and help me get something done.
You have your boys' and husbands' names on there. I hope we can get something done.

National searches don't get results
The Chamber of Commerce could best spend their time trying to attract industry and jobs.
A national search was done on the last three school leaders, and look at that cost to the taxpayers.
Frequently there is a reason these outsiders are available and ready (or need) to move. If they are so great where they are, why would they want to move?
