Caring teen gives kitten another life

My wonderful and thoughtful daughter, Brittany Blaylock, is the most caring 16-year-old I know.

One night during youth group at her church, she asked me to come and get a kitten she found that kept running into a tree outside the house. I thought about this, as we already have 13 rabbits, one dog and one other cat that adopted us, but I brought the cat carrier to her and she put this tiny 3-ounce kitten inside. The kitten was covered in fleas, with one eye matted shut and the other eye bulging out.

After a trip to the vet the kitten had medication for her eyes and an antibiotic. The right eye cleared up but we had to have the left eye removed. Today she is a beautiful, playful cat.

Brittany has an enormous heart and is a beautiful girl inside and out. I am very proud of her.
