Truth 'obstacle for liberals'

I would like to respond to Leonard Pitts' article dated Feb. 15. Mr. Pitts, I have also been referred to as [an expletive] frequently by liberals but never by conservatives. When a liberal cannot defend facts, out comes the deluge of profanity. It appears they think if they disparage you with enough appalling language, you will shut up and go away. They then feel by driving you off, they have won. I would never deny that Fox does not stretch the truth at times or misquote something they get from another news agency, but keep in mind that Fox News finished on top in both total viewers and the adults 25-54 category for the 13th straight year, according to Nielsen's most current estimates. If Fox were the liars you try to make them, I don't believe 2.3 million average daily viewers would be watching. Oh, the network also was rated the most trusted of all the other news outlets. Liberalism is destroying this country, and you are aiding and abetting. Col. Allen West said, "Truth is an obstacle for liberals." Have you written about the other networks' lies? Probably not?

Giuliani statement is unacceptable

During the dark days following the terrorist attack on 9/11, New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani showed himself to be a strong and capable leader under tremendous pressure. He became something of a national hero and was even given the title of "America's Mayor" by some. (Just for the record, I never considered him in that capacity.) Since that crisis, Mayor Giuliani's political fortunes have been in decline. First, he attempted to engineer a special extra term as mayor of New York and was soundly defeated. Next, he launched a campaign for the presidency, which fell flat. Maybe these rejections and others have affected his thinking and led to his latest questionable public tirade. He said: "President Obama does not love America." It is one thing for Giuliani to say he disagrees with everything the president stands for and that he thinks Obama has failed as a president, but it is quite another to say the president of the United States does not love America. That is ridiculous and completely unacceptable. A couple of months ago, in an unrelated public statement, Giuliani said that Vladimir Putin was "his kind of leader." Put those two statements together, and you have to wonder what is going on with Rudy.

Obama can't justify actions of misdeeds

President Obama is careful not to compare Muslims with the Islamic State and terrorist groups. Yet at the National Prayer Breakfast he was quick to condemn Christians for their past evil deeds. If Obama had to equate yesteryear's Christianity with the present day Islam, he should have known Jesus never received direct orders from any sanctity to kill. At least Muslim murderers are being logical and honest given the premise that they are taking their orders directly from Allah. Their actions reflect the teachings of Islam found in the Quran and in the acts or sayings of Mohammad. Mohammad himself stooped to political assassinations, murders and elimination of his opponents. Maybe the president's comparison of past misdeeds of Christians was an attempt to justify the actions of Muslims or he doesn't want to admit the true nature of Islam, how Islam, whose elements were first laid down over 1,400 years ago, can be relevant in the 21st century.
