Good Samaritans aide stranded motorists

On the way home from running errands recently, our car died on Ashland Terrace, just off Hixson Pike.

I turned on the flashers and tried to restart the engine. Three men - one perhaps a teenager - in a red pickup truck stopped to offer assistance. Within a very short time, they had pushed our car off the road and up a slope to an appropriate stop near the drive-through lanes of a SunTrust Bank.

After we thanked them, they made sure we had a phone, then left. I sincerely wish I had thought to ask their names.

With so much evil in the world, today, it is heartening to experience kindnesses from such good Samaritans.

Since it was National Military Appreciation Month, we made a monetary contribution to a military-related organization in their honor.
