The Kiwanis Club of Fort Oglethorpe recognized Georgia State Sen. Jeff Mullis with Kiwanis International's 2015 Distinguished Service Award. The awards luncheon, attended by 216 guests, was catered by Park Place Restaurant. Jack Goodlet, owner of Park Place, asked the honoree about the extra food and Sen. Mullis requested the food be delivered to the Fort Oglethorpe Housing Authority for its residents to enjoy. Housing Authority Director Sue Long and resident Louise Stinnett volunteered at the luncheon. They appreciated Sen. Mullis thinking of the residents and letting them share in his special day.
