Instead of paying for a critical care course conducted by Erlanger's Life Force Air Medical program, participants were asked to donate toys to the hospital's Child Life department. Child Life incorporates play and distraction techniques so children have less anxiety while receiving medical care. The toys will be distributed to children who are admitted to the hospital or receive care in the emergency room.
Erlanger's 48-hour critical care refresher course was attended by regional emergency services personnel, nurses and physicians. Topics included airway, trauma, cardiac, medical, pediatrics and OB/GYN emergencies. Life Force and Child Life staff thank all the healthcare providers who attended the course and donated to Children's Hospital.
