Good Deed: Initial good deed leads to other good deeds

The beginning of this Good Deed began with the selfless ministry of a beautiful couple, Christopher and Dorothy Rolle, who tirelessly serve meals or snacks or give hugs to schoolchildren and forgotten seniors. When their story, with its challenges on food and funding, was made public, an amazing collective group "adopted" the Rolles to provide a monthly gift of food and money.

Christmas and holidays caused the group to focus on added treats, holiday gifts, warm clothes and fresh food for the children and seniors adopted by the Rolles. Collections were gathered with the idea that a box of fresh oranges and apples could be included with the clothing and treats.

Produce Manager DeWayne Rice went to each local Food City store to gather a full box each of oranges and apples so that the elves could deliver to the Rolles.

Because of the initial good deed, which led to other good deeds, there have been many more blessings. Thanks to the elves and to DeWayne Rice and Food City; and a special thanks to the Rolles.
