Trump failed moral test after protest

President Trump's actions and words after the protests in Charlottesville are another blatant and clear indication that he has no moral integrity or moral clarity.

In fact, he has no morals.

His scripted words last week after a vague statement the previous Saturday prove he has no empathy, no compassion, no ability to unite the country. It was obvious that he was uncomfortable condemning the hate groups.

He has proven time and time again he is no leader, has no ability to govern, only to yell and Tweet to blame, bully and intimidate.

You cannot defend the indefensible. When are Republicans going to show some moral fortitude?

Stop efforts to alter our nation's history

After 150 years there is a group of people changing the history of this great nation. Believe me, they are not trying to make changes in our history, they are succeeding.

The Civil War was fought from 1861 to 1865, and it was a terrible, bloody, painful time for the nation. Our country and its people were divided, brother fought against brother, father against son. Our union was almost destroyed.

Now groups are removing statues of Confederate leaders. If they would only research their background, I venture to say, they just might find a family member who fought for the Confederacy.

We need to be reminded daily of this terrible time in our history. This is why it is so important that we keep these statues and other reminders of the Civil War.

We must not let this happen again. Look how the people are already becoming divided.

President Harry Truman once said, "If the people would study their history, there would be no wars." Please, let us take a stand against changing our history.
