Prayers having little effect on president

We have prayed Donald Trump would learn quickly; he hasn't. He continues to show his arrogance and ignorance.

He said, "No administration has accomplished more in 90 days." Later someone told him about FDR.

Saying a great armada was sailing toward Korea while going toward Australia makes us look dangerously incompetent and scares our allies. Former Assistant Secretary of Defense Lorance Korb, said, "It's incomprehensible but typical of this administration. You wonder who is in charge."

He's insulted five of our closest allies and continues to tweet things a president should never disclose publicly. To say North Korea was part of China shows his ignorance. He also said Iran wasn't in compliance with the nuclear agreement when his secretary of state said otherwise. This strengthens hardliners in Iran. That's dangerous!

Watch out for fake news! An article in the TFP indicated Trump's tax plan is tilted toward the affluent. Multi-millionaires are winners, and lower and upper middle class people are the losers.

Polls indicate 25 percent of Americans believe Trump is untrustworthy and dishonest. If he doesn't reveal a visitors list to the White House and release his tax returns, these numbers could increase.

Support Trump, immigration laws

Our president campaigned on the promise of resolving the problem of undocumented immigrants living in the country. He never was anti-immigrant, but the failure to enforce policies requiring immigrants to return to their own countries has escalated.

An estimated 11 million have never returned to their countries. For decades people have been allowed to cross the Southern borders into the U.S., and the USA has looked the other way. They have been encouraged by our own citizens because they were willing to work on seasonal jobs, to work as cheap labor and to do the hard jobs that our own American people are unwilling to do.

Those who were supposed to enforce the laws lacked governmental support. As long as the illegals were contributing to the economic growth and willing to work cheap, it was convenient to ignore the laws. Now that the president wants to do something about the big problem of illegal immigrants, the liberals are labeling him bigot, racist, xenophobic and a man without a compassionate heart.

It's time to bite the bullet and take action! Let us all support our president!

Health care industry in need of overhaul

I keep hearing Republicans describing the Affordable Care Act as a disaster. The real disaster is the American health care industry.

The ACA was and is an attempt to moderate or eliminate at least some of the havoc wreaked on us by that industry. It would have done far more but for Republican opposition.

It's a solid, compassionate and empathetic base to build upon, not to rip up and replace with a law devoid of sensitivities to any but the rich.

I'm all for playing the blame game, so let's put the blame where it belongs - on an industry that is all about overpricing and manipulating the sale of drugs, medical devices, diagnostics, procedures, you name it.

And blame the Republican Party for enabling and enhancing that industry at every turn.
