Karma is a sly mistress.

The rich guy who wouldn't shut up about Barack Obama being an illegitimate president - Donald Trump who said falsely that Obama was born in Kenya - is now himself seen by many as an illegitimate president because he received Russian help to win the presidency.

U.S. Rep. John Lewis, D-Georgia, told NBC newsman Chuck Todd that he did not view Trump as a "legitimate president," and Lewis, an icon of the civil rights movement, said he will boycott the inauguration.

Trump did what he always does. He tweeted, derisively and with bad timing.

"Congressman John Lewis should spend more time on fixing and helping his district, which is in horrible shape and falling apart (not to mention crime infested) rather than falsely complaining about the election results," Trump said in a pair of early morning Twitter posts on a Martin Luther King weekend holiday. "All talk, talk, talk - no action or results. Sad!"

All talk? Trump clearly doesn't know John Lewis' biography. Perhaps Lewis should send him an autographed photo of the moment his skull was fractured while marching from Selma to Montgomery. His "horrible shape" district? Like Buckhead in Atlanta and the world's busiest airport, Hartsfield-Jackson, as well as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Georgia Institute of Technology?

And come this next weekend, probably fewer people will attend Donald Trump's inauguration on Friday than will attend the Million Women March in Washington on Saturday - a bazillion-women protest to rise up and decry the man who bragged on a hot mic that he grabbed the anatomy of women and can do anything he wants.

"When you're a star they let you do it Grab them by the p--," Trump says in the recording made apparently when he was on a bus on the taping scene of Access Hollywood a decade ago. The tape was obtained by the Washington Post and released in October.

On Saturday, many of the peacefully protesting women will walk the streets of Trump's new back yard wearing pink toboggans with little cat ears.

It began as a feminist rallying cry on social media and has become what is expected to be one of the largest demonstrations in American history with almost 200 progressive groups signing on as supporting partners. The groups and issues represent the environment, legal abortion, prisoners' rights, voting rights, a free press, affordable health care, gun safety, racial and gender equality and a higher minimum wage. Some 200 Chattanoogans expect to travel to Washington, D.C., to be part of it.

More than 300 simultaneous local protests also will occur across all 50 states, and support marches are planned in 30 other countries, according to organizer Linda Sarsour.

Chattanooga's protest is set at Renaissance Park.

Here's what is "sad," President-elect Trump:

It's sad that you are not even in office yet, and how you got there is already under investigation. You are not even in office yet, and you already have generated more scandal than Barack Obama saw in his entire eight-year term.

It's sad that you would use tweets against Rep. Lewis to try to divert attention from the Senate Intelligence Committee's Friday announcement to "follow the intelligence where it leads" to prove possible contacts between Russia and U.S. political campaigns during Moscow's meddling in the 2016 election. The committee's announcement followed a declassified intelligence report last week that Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered a hidden campaign to influence the election to favor Trump.

Ah, Karma, sweet karma - and her million-strong family of sisters.
