Hamilton County Commissioners delayed a discussion about a controversial rezoning request at Thrasher Pike and Middle Valley Road today.

Developers are seeking to rezone the area from agricultural and residential zoning to commercial zoning to build a "neighborhood grocery store."

Builders are not saying who the tenants will be, but the plans are similar to several Wal-mart grocery stores which have been built in the area.

Residents opposed to the rezoning filled the room today, and many expressed anger with the issue being deferred.
