Hamilton County Board of Education elections:
District 1:
Twelve year incumbent Rhonda Thurman is challenged in the District 1 race by Patti Skates, a longtime educator, and firefighter Jason Moses.
District 1 is the most northern part of the county, encompassing Soddy-Daisy and Sale Creek.

District 2:
School board chairman Jonathan Welch faces Kathy Lennon in the District 2 race.
Lennon is a former educator and director of special projects and development at Chattanooga WorkSpace.
District 2 includes Signal Mountain, Red Bank and much of Stuart Heights.

District 4:
George Ricks has served on the school board for 8 years, and is being challenged in the District 4 election by Tiffanie Robinson and Montrell Besley.
Robinson is the director and CEO of Lamp Post Properties, and Besley teaches health and physical education at Woodmore Elementary.
Annette Thompson is on the ballot, though she dropped out of the race.
District 4 includes East Chattanooga and the Southside.

Incumbent Donna Horn faces challenge in the District 7 race by Joe Wingate, an assistant professor and coach at Chattanooga State Community College.
District 7 includes East Brainerd and portions of Ooltewah and Apison.
