Walker County Commissioner Shannon Whitfield will hold a meeting Thursday to take out a $4 million tax anticipation note.

Whitfield will need the loan to pay for basic county functions, like paying employees, through the end of the year. In January, Whitfield said the county would need to borrow $8 million from the Bank of LaFayette.

He borrowed $4 million at the beginning of the year. The interest rate is 2.95 percent.

Thursday's meeting will take place at 2 p.m. in the commissioner's office on South Duke Street in LaFayette.
