Early voting returns to south Bradley Bi-Lo

CLEVELAND, Tenn. - A satellite early voting site is returning to its former location.

The south Cleveland early voting site for the Nov. 2 election will be at the Bi-Lo shopping center on APD 40. The mobile election office is being set up this week, members of the Bradley County Election Commission said Monday.

Early voting takes place Oct. 13 through Oct. 28. Bradley County's other locations remain at Bradley Square Mall and at the Election Commission office at the county courthouse annex on Broad Street.

Monday was the last day to register to vote on Nov. 2.

Election Director Fran Green said there was no late surge of registrations.

In addition to state and federal elections, there is a local race on the ballot. Rodney Dillard, a local Bi-Lo manager, and Jerry L. Johnson Jr., with the county emergency medical service, are in a nonpartisan contest for Bradley County Board of Education for the 5th District.

The winner will fill the vacancy created in early September by the death of Terry McGuire.

The Election Commission approved the list of election-day workers Monday.

Election Commissioner Milan Blake said some user-friendly changes have been made to the Election Commission's website.

"Of all the pages on our website that get hits, 'past results' by far gets the most hits,'' Blake said. The changes will make that page easier and faster to check on election night, he said.
