Dewayne HillFormer Catoosa County Commissioner Dewayne Hill will join the state legislature.
Hill defeated Jeff Holcomb in a run-off election tonight, 1,822 votes to 1,324. He will replace Tom Weldon, who decided not to run for re-election in March.
Holcomb edged Hill in the May 24 Primary, a three-person race. But he only received 48 percent of the vote, and he needed a majority to avoid a runoff. With 2,010 votes, Holcomb was 71 votes shy of winning outright.
Hill received 1,606 votes in that race.
