NASHVILLE -- The Tennessee Board of Regents will meet in a special conference-call session Friday, Jan. 27, to develop search criteria for the next president of Chattanooga State Community College.
Gov. Bill Haslam, chairman of the Board of Regents, has called the special telephone meeting as Regents take their first step in the search for a successor to Dr. Flora Tydings, who steps down as president on Jan. 31 to assume a new role as chancellor of the the entire Board of Regents system.
Outgoing TBR Chancellor David Gregory recently named Debbie Adams, Chattanooga State's vice president of student affairs and workforce development, to serve as interim president from Feb. 1 until the new president is appointed and arrives on campus later this year.
Following Regents' approval next week, the selection criteria will be used to advertise the president's position in a nationwide search for the new Chattanooga State president.
The meeting is open to the public and news media as listeners. Anyone wishing dial-in information for the call should contact TBR interim communications director Richard Locker at rick.locker@tbr.edu or 615-366-4417 before 4:30 p.m. (CST) Thursday, Jan. 26.
