Protesters use Tom Price visit to question lawmakers on health care [videos]

As Tom Price began his speech inside the Council for Alcohol and Drug Abuse Services, only a few protesters gathered outside the building on Spears Avenue.

Anna Grabowski, 63, of Meigs County, said she was here because a neighbor who couldn't afford quality health insurance died of cancer about two years ago. She would like to see the United States move to a single payer system.

Eric Reese, 37, said he only makes about $8,000 a year delivering pizzas. He lost his job delivering oxygen machines a couple years ago as his employer's profits shriveled, dropping Reese's annual salary by about $12,000. He also wants a single payer system in the United States.

Grabowski and Reese both met with U.S. Sen. Bob Corker for about 2 minutes after Corker left the event. He told them to continue to monitor the current bill that sits in the Senate.

The protesters also spotted U.S. Rep Chuck Fleischmann, R-Tenn., heading into the building. He did not reverse course to see them.

"You suck, Chuck," Reese shouted.

"You're betraying Jesus," said Alex Volz, 37, who was cradling his baby. "You're making my baby cry."

Grabowski plans to also protest the health care bill in U.S. Sen. Lamar Alexander's office in the federal courthouse at 3 p.m.
