The Machine: A Tribute to Pink Floyd will join forces with the Chattanooga Symphony & Opera to re-create one of rock music's best-selling and most enduring albums on June 12 during the Riverbend Festival, according to Joe "Dixie" Fuller, talent and production coordinator.

"Dark Side of the Moon" will be performed in its entirety, complete with guest artists and a laser-light show unlike anything offered in the festival's 30 years, Fuller said.

"They are bringing in an additional laser package and a light show that we ended up spending some extra money on," he said. "They use the same amps and equipment as the original, so it's a verbatim Pink Floyd concert that people will enjoy."

In making the announcement, Fuller said the North Mississippi Allstars Duo, featuring brothers Luther and Cody Dickinson, will perform earlier the same night on the Bud Light Stage. They will be taking a break from opening for Robert Plant's Band of Joy during his summer tour to play here. Luther Dickinson performed at Riverbend three years ago as a member of The Black Crowes.

Also that night, the Jeff Coffin Mu'Tet will play on the Unum Stage. Luther Dickinson and Coffin will join The Machine and the symphony on the Coke Stage for the main event, Fuller said.

"Luther will be doing all the hot guitar parts and Jeff will playing on the Floyd songs like 'Money' and 'Us and Them' that have saxophone parts," Fuller said.

In addition to performing as a solo artist, Coffin is the saxophone player for the Dave Matthews Band and Bela Fleck's band, the Flecktones.

"Dark Side of the Moon" was recorded in 1973 in London's famed Abby Road Studio. It went right to No. 1 on the Billboard charts and stayed on the charts until 1988, a record 741 weeks. The Machine is one of the oldest Floyd tribute bands, having formed in 1988.

Previously announced acts for this year's festival, set for June 10-18, are Miranda Lambert, The Beach Boys, Huey Lewis and the News and Casting Crowns.
