The Tennessee Valley Authority has replaced its board and most of its top managers over the past five years.

Federal officials are asking the public to preview three Kingston, Tenn., ash spill cleanup alternatives that could take up to four years of cleanup work and another $741 million.

In 10 years, Times Free Press photographers have taken thousands of images. We've combed through the archives to find some of the most memorable news and feature photographs. The images tell the story of 10 years in the life of our region.

Billy Weeks, Chattanooga Times Free Press director of photography and graphics, discusses memorable images since the merger 10 years ago of Chattanooga's two daily newspapers. The images range from shots of the Vols celebrating their 1999 national championship to pictures of celebrants rejoicing over Barack Obama's 2008 presidential election.

Chattanooga Times Free Press President and General Manager Jason Taylor discusses the newspaper 10 years after the city's two papers merged. Mr. Taylor also addresses the different platforms the Times Free Press uses to deliver news.

Tom Griscom, Chattanooga Times Free Press publisher and executive editor, recalls merging two newspaper cultures into one in Chattanooga 10 years ago. Mr. Griscom also discusses the "dynamic" growth of the newspaper's Web site.

Walter E. Hussman Jr., chairman of the Chattanooga Times Free Press, discusses his decision to purchase the two newspapers in the Chattanooga market 10 years ago and to merge them into one operation. Mr. Hussman also talks about the distinct nature of having two editorial voices in the newspaper.

Since Chattanooga’s morning and afternoon newspapers joined to debut as what is now the Chattanooga Times Free Press 10 years ago as of Monday, the paper has become more than the neatly rolled, plastic-wrapped bundle that lands each morning in readers’ driveways.
