Georgia football coach Mark Richt expects 17 of the 19 Bulldogs signees to meet NCAA eligibility requirements, with Dalton High School defensive end Jalen Fields one of the casualties.

"He's not been admitted to Georgia yet, I know that," Richt told reporters Tuesday at the Southeastern Conference spring meetings in Destin, Fla. "I don't think he will."

Fields was the first commitment in Georgia's 2010 class, pledging in March 2009. The 6-foot-5, 250-pounder amassed 63 tackles, four sacks, two forced fumbles and a 35-yard fumble recovery for a touchdown as a senior for the Catamounts.

Rivals.com rated Fields the No. 14 strongside defensive end nationally, but he told the Times Free Press in February that new Bulldogs defensive coordinator Todd Grantham had him penciled as an outside linebacker in his 3-4 scheme.

Georgia's first known nonqualifier was Rochelle receiver Lonnie Outlaw (6-6, 200), who will start out at Georgia Military. It is not known whether GMC will be the beginning point for Fields, who did not return a message seeking comment.
