The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga women's golf team will play its next tournament a booming drive away from one of the most iconic spots in college athletics - Touchdown Jesus.
UTC was designated the No. 12 seed in the Central Regional of the NCAA tournament Monday and is among 24 teams assigned to Warren Golf Club at Notre Dame, Ind.
"I'm happy with the draw. I don't care about the seed," Mocs coach Colette Murray said. "We'll get there, do our best and see what happens,"
"I don't have any experience there. I'm looking forward to going north."
From each of the three May 5-7 regionals, the top eight teams - and the top two individuals not on those teams - will participate in the NCAA championship May 18-21 at The Traditions Club in College Station, Texas.
"If you get into the NCAAs you know you're a good team," Murray said. "All three regions are stacked."
UCLA, Duke, LSU, Arkansas and Wake Forest are the top five seeds, in order, set to play on the Irish's home course. Also seeded above the Mocs there are Texas, Tulane, Stanford, Notre Dame, Ohio State and Kent State.
"We're going to go out there with the right attitude," Murray said. "We know what we want to achieve, and if we do that, we'll be happy."
Alabama, including former Baylor School star Brooke Pancake, earned the top seed for the East Regional at LPGA International at Daytona Beach, Fla.
Georgia is the top seed and Tennessee the fifth seed in the West Regional at the Washington National Golf Club in Auburn, Wash.
