Davis will play next for TWC

Michelle Davis is on her way to her fourth college basketball program, and Tennessee Wesleyan coach Jeff Rice is delighted he's the one getting the 6-foot-1 former Cleveland High School star who's now part of Cleveland State's nationally ranked team.

Davis has signed to play next season for Rice at the Athens school, which is ranked 18th in NAIA Division II.

"A big kid who can step out and make jumpers is gold," Rice said Tuesday evening, "and Michelle knows what it takes to win. I'm extremely glad to get her."

Davis began in NCAA Division I at North Carolina State and then transferred to the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, but then she decided to take a step back in the sport. She couldn't stay away entirely, however, and has averaged eight points per game with 16 made 3-pointers for the 19-1, TCCAA-leading Lady Cougars.
