All Georgia APRs well above 925 benchmark

All 20 sports sponsored at the University of Georgia were well above the 925 cutoff score in the annual NCAA Academic Progress Rate report released Tuesday.

The men's golf team posted a perfect score of 1,000, and the football program's score of 976 trailed only Vanderbilt among Southeastern Conference programs. Eleven UGA teams improved their APR scores from a year ago, while four stayed the same and five declined.

"These scores are indicative of a great deal of effort and hard work by our student-athletes," athletic director Greg McGarity said. "Our coaches and academic counseling staff have done an excellent job of supporting our student-athletes, and we'll continue those efforts to keep improving and performing at a high level."
