Lee University bounced back from an eight-inning 8-7 loss to visiting Auburn-Montgomery with an eight-inning 7-6 win in their Southern States Athletic Conference baseball doubleheader Saturday in Cleveland.

All three games in the series went extras, and the final play summarized the closeness. Pinch-runner Mike Fasolo scored from second base on Jorge Saez's single, but only when the throw from center field got away from the AUM catcher.

Saez was 2-for-4 with three RBIs and Blake Barber was 3-for-4 with two RBIs in that game for Lee (42-8-1, 23-4), ranked No. 2 in the NAIA. James Fowlkes was 1-for-2 with a walk and scored twice. Mike Moore was 3-for-3 with three RBIs and Saez and Edmanuel Rivera had two hits each for the Flames in their loss.

• Sewanee 26-3, Centre 10-11: At Sewanee, Ryne Sullivan had four hits with two homers, a double and nine RBIs in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference win for the hosts and had three doubles and two RBIs in the loss. Jack Whaley contributed a grand slam among three hits in game one for the Tigers (14-8, 3-8), and Connor Liston had two hits behind Lee Schurlknight's pitching. Scott Ward added two hits in game two.

• Emory 7-4, Covenant 2-5: At Atlanta, the visiting Scots fought back with two runs in the top of the ninth inning to win the series finale. Paul Phillips was hit by a pitch, K.C. Simons sacrificed him to second and David Lockwood doubled in a run and scored on James Rollins' single in the go-ahead rally, and Rollins was 3-for-5 with two RBIs while Lockwood was 4-for-5 and scored twice. Simons was 2-for-3 and scored a run. He and Rollins each was 2-for-4 in the loss for Covenant (16-15).

• Young Harris 8, Tennessee Temple 5: At Young Harris, Fla., David Atwood went 3-for-4 with a homer and two RBIs and Zeke Gribble hit a three-run double as the Mountain Lions completed a three-game weekend sweep and rose to 32-10. Ryan Bruce was 2-for-4 with an RBI and Caden Shadrick scored twice for Temple (12-31-1), which lost 6-2 and 5-4 Friday, the latter on a ninth-inning homer by Adam Moore, who had tripled in a run and then scored for a 4-4 tie in the seventh.

Chris Altman was 5-for-8 in Friday's doubleheader with an RBI in each game. Brandon Davis was 2-for-3 and scored a run in game one, and Jon Clayton was 2-for-3 with an RBI in game two.

• Walters State 5-1, Cleveland State 1-0: At Cleveland, the nationally ninth-ranked Senators completed the TCCAA series sweep despite a three-hitter with only an unearned run for the Cougars' Jared Burton in the finale. Josh Coker had a three-run triple and Jake Ellison went 3-for-4 and scored two for Walters in Saturday's first game, when J.D. Cowart was 2-for-2 and DeAndre Allen was 1-for-2 with an RBI for Cleveland State (23-18, 7-14).

Allen had both Cougars hits in the rematch. He singled and stole second in the seventh but was doubled off to end the game when shortstop Kendall Keeton snared an Ethan Davis line drive that briefly looked to be a tying hit.

Chattanooga State won its TCCAA series opener Friday against Jackson State, 4-3 in 10 innings, as Jordan McDonald had three hits and Daniel Tucker and Tyler Garner also had multiple hits. Tyler McClure and Alex Ledford pitched well for the Tigers (31-14, 12-7), who hosted the Generals in a doubleheader Saturday.
